Terms of Service
1. Agreement to these terms
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of conectir.com and the Conectir application (the “Service”), provided by Conectir (“Conectir”, “we”, “us”). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
2. The Service
Conectir is investigation software for professional use. The Service is currently offered in private beta and may change, and features may be added or removed as it develops.
3. Eligibility and accounts
You must be at least 18 years old and using the Service for legitimate professional investigation purposes. You are responsible for the activity under your account and for keeping your login credentials secure. Tell us promptly if you suspect any unauthorised use.
4. Your content and data
You retain ownership of the case material you put into Conectir. You grant us the limited rights needed to host, process and display that material in order to provide the Service to you, including sending the relevant parts to our AI provider at the moment of analysis.
You are responsible for ensuring you have a lawful basis to collect, upload and process the material you put into Conectir, including any personal information about third parties. Our handling of personal information is described in our Privacy Policy.
5. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
· use the Service for any unlawful purpose, or to process data you have no right to process; · attempt to breach, probe or circumvent the security of the Service; · reverse-engineer, resell or misrepresent the Service; or · use the Service in any way that could harm Conectir, its users or third parties.
6. SCAN, AI analysis and your responsibility
Conectir produces investigative leads, never verdicts. SCAN, timeline reconciliation and the AI Advisor are investigative aids that highlight things worth a follow-up question. They are not a validated lie detector, a determination of guilt, innocence, truthfulness or deception, and they are not legal advice.
Outputs may contain errors and must not be relied on as the sole basis for any decision. You remain fully responsible for your own investigative conclusions, for independent corroboration and human review, and for complying with your own legal, professional, evidentiary and ethical obligations.
7. Intellectual property
Conectir and all software, design and content that make up the Service (excluding your case material) are owned by Conectir and its licensors. These Terms grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the Service; they do not transfer any ownership in it to you.
8. Fees and billing
The Service is currently in private beta. Pricing and billing terms will be provided before any paid plan begins, and these Terms will be updated accordingly. Where fees apply, they will be as set out at the point of purchase.
9. Disclaimers
The Service is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, to the fullest extent permitted by law. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free or fit for any particular purpose.
10. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Conectir will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special or consequential loss, or for any loss arising from your reliance on outputs of the Service. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.
11. Indemnity
You agree to indemnify Conectir against claims arising from your use of the Service in breach of these Terms or of any law, including claims relating to material you upload without a lawful basis.
12. Suspension and termination
You may stop using the Service at any time. We may suspend or terminate access if you breach these Terms or where necessary to protect the Service or other users. On termination, the provisions that by their nature should survive will continue to apply.
13. Changes to these terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we make material changes we will update the date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, notify you. Continued use after a change means you accept the updated Terms.
14. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of South Africa, and the South African courts will have jurisdiction, without affecting any mandatory consumer protections available to you where you live.
