1. Who we are

Conectir is a product of TADA INTERNATIONAL (Pty) Ltd (registration number 2026/493142/07), a private company registered in South Africa and trading as Conectir, with its registered office at 12A Von Brandis Street, Piet Retief, Mkhondo, Mpumalanga, 2380 (“Conectir”, “we”, “us” or “our”). Conectir provides investigation software for analysing witness statements, reconciling timelines, mapping connections across cases and producing court-ready reports. This policy explains how we handle personal information when you use conectir.com and the Conectir application.

We have appointed Anne-Mari van Staden as our Information Officer, responsible for overseeing our compliance with POPIA and this policy. For any privacy question, or to exercise your rights, you can contact our Information Officer at annemari@conectir.com.

2. Two roles — yours and ours

When you create an account and use Conectir, we act as the responsible party / controller for your account and usage data.

For the case material you put into Conectir — witness statements, case details, uploaded evidence and the personal information of third parties they contain — you are the responsible party / controller, and Conectir acts as your operator / processor, handling that material only to provide the service to you. You are responsible for having a lawful basis to collect and upload that material.

3. Information we collect

Account information — your name, email address, a securely hashed password, and the country/region you work in (used to set your public holidays, apply the right privacy law, and give the Case Council the correct legal context).

Case content you create — witness statements, case details, notes, diary entries, timelines, reports and any files you upload as evidence. This content may contain personal information about other people (for example witnesses or subjects of an investigation).

Usage and technical data — log data, IP address, browser and device information, and essential cookies used to keep you signed in and to secure the service.

4. How we use information

We use your information to provide and operate the service (including SCAN analysis, timeline reconciliation, the Case Council, court-ready reporting, the financial statement analysis tool and the AI Advisor), to secure and maintain the platform, to provide support, to communicate with you about your account, and to comply with our legal obligations.

We do not send marketing emails or newsletters. The only emails we send are essential account messages — such as confirming your account, resetting your password, team invitations, and important security or service notices. Everything else appears as a notification inside your workspace.

5. Lawful basis for processing

We process personal information on the basis of performing our contract with you, your consent where required, our legitimate interests in operating and securing the service, and compliance with the law. Where Conectir acts as your operator/processor for case content, we process it on your documented instructions.

6. AI processing

SCAN analysis, timeline reconciliation, the Case Council, court-ready reporting, the financial statement analysis and the AI Advisor send the relevant case material to our AI provider (Anthropic) only at the moment of analysis. Your case material is never used to train AI models.

7. Who we share information with

We share information with the third-party service providers (sub-processors) that help us run Conectir — currently our database and storage provider, our hosting provider, the AI providers that power our analysis and document reading, and our email-delivery provider. The current list and what each one does is published on our Sub-processors page.

Some of these providers may process data outside South Africa. Where that happens, we take steps to ensure your information remains protected to a comparable standard. We do not sell your personal information, and Conectir products are ad-free.

8. How we protect your information

Case data is encrypted in transit (TLS) and at rest (AES-256). Access is restricted per user with row-level security, so each user can only reach their own cases, and uploaded evidence is held in private storage. Meaningful actions on a case are recorded on a timestamped audit log.

No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your information using the measures described in our Trust Centre.

9. How long we keep information

We keep your account information and case content for as long as your account is active. You can request deletion of your data, and we will delete or return case content on closure of your account, subject to any legal retention obligations.

10. Your rights

Subject to applicable law, you have the right to access, correct, and request deletion of your personal information, to object to or restrict certain processing, and to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. In South Africa that is the Information Regulator; in the EU/UK it is your local data protection authority.

To exercise any of these rights, contact us at annemari@conectir.com.

11. Cookies

We use only the essential cookies needed to keep you signed in and to secure the service. We do not use advertising or third-party tracking cookies. See our Cookie Policy for the full detail.

12. Children

Conectir is a professional tool intended for adults. It is not directed at children and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18.

13. International users (GDPR / UK GDPR)

If you are in the EU or UK, you have rights under the GDPR and UK GDPR equivalent to those described above. We will honour those rights and apply appropriate safeguards to any cross-border transfer of your data.

14. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we make material changes we will update the date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, notify you.

15. Contact

Questions about this policy or your data can be sent to anton@conectir.com.
